Lead Java Developer (Saudi Arabia)

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across multiple project streams.
• Support the design, review, and improvement of backend and frontend solutions.
• Make technical decisions focused on scalability, maintainability, and engineering standards.
• Review existing implementations, identify risks, and recommend architectural improvements.
• Collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and technical leads to clarify requirements and unblock delivery.
• Mentor engineers, conduct design and code reviews, and contribute to technical documentation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience and prior experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or in a similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, Domain-Driven Design, modular monoliths, microservices, distributed systems, and application dependencies.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, working with relational databases and complex data models, PostgreSQL or similar SQL databases, and Redis.
• Experience with cloud architecture, Kubernetes deployment and operations, highly available stateless applications, CI/CD, Git-based workflows, automated testing, and TDD.
• Upper-Intermediate English or above required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Spring Modulith, reactive programming, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Linux, or high-load systems.
• Background in IoT, embedded systems, video processing, video analytics, system migrations, or legacy modernization.
• Previous on-site experience in Saudi Arabia, the GCC, or the Middle East.
