Head Chef (Hospitality)

Location: Bishops Mill, 7 The Maltings, Salisbury, Wiltshire, United Kingdom

Salary: £31,000–£36,000 plus bonus

What you will do

• Take ownership of the day-to-day kitchen operation and lead the kitchen team.
• Coach and develop team members while building a positive, accountable kitchen culture.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, service, hygiene, health and safety, and allergen control.
• Manage busy and high-volume services, including coach parties, tourist groups, weekends, sporting occasions and seasonal events.
• Manage ordering, stock takes, stock rotation, wastage, food GP and kitchen costs.
• Work with the General Manager and front-of-house team to achieve food and commercial goals.

Requirements

• Experience managing a busy kitchen, ideally in a pub, restaurant or high-volume hospitality environment.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing a kitchen team.
• Ability to organise and prioritise during busy services while maintaining consistency, pace and quality.
• Knowledge of food safety, allergens, health and safety, kitchen compliance, stock control and food costs.
• Strong communication skills, commercial awareness and a hands-on approach.
• Passion for food and hospitality and willingness to lead from the front.
