Head Chef (Hospitality)

Location: Two Brewers, Chipperfield, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom

Salary: £34,000–£38,000 per year plus bonus

hirify.global operates the Two Brewers, a Grade II listed country pub and hotel with 20 bedrooms, approximately 80% occupancy, and a busy food and hospitality operation.

What you will do

• Lead the kitchen team, set clear expectations, and maintain a positive, high-performing kitchen culture.
• Oversee food quality, presentation, service standards, and smooth kitchen operations.
• Coach, motivate, and develop kitchen employees while working closely with the General Manager and wider management team.
• Manage stock takes, ordering, stock rotation, wastage, food costs, and gross profit.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards.
• Prepare the kitchen and team for the planned refit and support pub dining, hotel service, and Sunday roast operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading a busy kitchen as a Kitchen Manager or Head Chef.
• Experience in a pub, hotel, or similar food-led hospitality environment.
• Confident, hands-on leadership during busy services, with a firm but fair approach.
• Strong communication, people-management, coaching, and team-development skills.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, health and safety, stock management, ordering, wastage, GP, and food-cost control.
• Organised, commercially aware, and able to make decisions under pressure.
