Head Chef (Hospitality)

Location: Snooty Fox, Three Bridges, West Sussex, United Kingdom

Salary: £31,000–£38,500 per year plus bonus

What you will do

• Lead the kitchen team and set clear expectations for food quality, consistency, presentation, and service standards.
• Coach, motivate, and develop kitchen employees while maintaining a positive and organised working environment.
• Manage stock takes, ordering, stock rotation, wastage, food costs, and gross profit.
• Ensure safe, efficient, clean, and compliant kitchen operations.
• Work with the General Manager to improve the food offer, maximise sales, and support overall pub performance.
• Prepare the kitchen for busy services, sporting occasions, live music, and other key events.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading a kitchen, ideally in a busy pub or branded hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of day-to-day kitchen operations and food safety requirements.
• Experience with stock management, ordering, wastage control, and food cost management.
• Strong people-management and communication skills, including coaching and team development.
• Ability to remain organised, resilient, and hands-on during busy services.
• Passion for food and consistent high standards in a high-volume environment.
