Software Engineer (Python)

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria. Employees work from the office five days per week during the first six months of probation; afterward, the role follows a hybrid schedule with three office days and two remote days per week.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Python-based applications.
• Contribute to frontend and backend features for the billing tools platform.
• Participate in requirements discussions, solution design, documentation, and the software development lifecycle.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code and create unit tests.
• Monitor applications, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to internal users.
• Collaborate with engineers and internal stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Hands-on Python development experience and knowledge of software engineering best practices.
• Experience with SQL, relational databases, and web applications.
• IT-related university degree, equivalent education, or current relevant studies.
• Knowledge of core software development principles and basic Agile methodologies.
• Effective spoken and written English.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge or hands-on experience with Django.
• Familiarity with Oracle databases.
• Python experience from internships, university projects, personal projects, or commercial development.
• Basic exposure to both frontend and backend development.
