What you will do
- Lead the technical direction of the PAX iOS app, including architecture, modularisation, and coding principles for a large, long-lived codebase.
- Design and develop AI primitives for mobile engineering, including context, tooling, guardrails, and evaluation.
- Drive adoption across feature teams through RFCs, migration plans, technical guidelines, and enablement.
- Partner with design, platform, mobile, product, legal, and other cross-functional stakeholders to resolve complex requirements.
- Strengthen engineering quality through risk management, on-call and incident response, code and design reviews, mentorship, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years of iOS development.
- Expertise in Swift and Objective-C, with experience working in large, long-lived codebases.
- Strong AI fundamentals for software engineering, including context engineering, tool use, function calling, agentic workflows, retrieval, evaluation, and failure-mode analysis.
- Hands-on experience building, deploying, measuring, and safeguarding LLM-powered tools or product capabilities.
- Experience with architectural approaches such as MVVM or VIPER, application operations, crash analytics, remote debugging, observability, and phased rollouts.
- Experience with technical documentation, mentoring engineers, and improving engineering standards and team processes.
