Assistant Accountant (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Complete month-end and ad hoc financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit-ready work papers.
• Contribute to quarterly SEC reporting for the US parent.
• Support IFRS statutory reporting and New Zealand and US external audits.
• Investigate and resolve accounting issues across fixed assets, inventory, and R&D.
• Prepare GST, FBT, NRWT, and income tax returns, as well as R&D tax credit claims.
• Assist with cash flow forecasts, Stats NZ surveys, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Diploma in accounting or business.
• Currently working toward a professional accounting qualification such as CA or CPA.
• Month-end close experience in a medium to large organization.
• Continuous improvement mindset and strong Excel skills.
• For the New Zealand office, background and nationality checks apply because the role involves access to equipment and data regulated by US ITAR.
• Eligibility may require citizenship of Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the European Union, or a NATO member country, subject to ITAR restrictions.

Nice to have

• Experience with large accounting systems.
• Experience with a Tier 1 ERP system.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
