TL;DR
Lead AI Operations Engineer (AI/LLMOps): Building shared operational capabilities for enterprise AI applications and agents with an accent on observability, reliability, security, compliance, and cost control. Focus on designing production platforms, implementing runtime guardrails and deployment gates, and solving complex monitoring, incident response, and AI consumption challenges at scale.
Location: Based in Milan, Italy; Madrid, Spain; or Lisbon, Portugal
Salary: €48,600–€77,395 annual base pay

What you will do
- Design and implement observability, telemetry, tracing, dashboards, and alerts for AI applications and agents.
- Build reusable LLMOps and AgentOps pipelines, deployment gates, rollout controls, runbooks, and production-support tooling.
- Develop AI FinOps capabilities for metering, cost allocation, budgets, consumption monitoring, and optimization.
- Implement security, privacy, Responsible AI, access control, auditability, logging, and runtime guardrails.
- Lead incident analysis, service management, operational readiness, recovery procedures, and continuous reliability improvements.
- Work with AI product, platform, cloud, data, cybersecurity, privacy, risk, quality, and compliance stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, artificial intelligence, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, DevSecOps, MLOps, or production software engineering.
- Production experience operating machine learning, generative AI, or agentic systems.
- Hands-on Python, APIs, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD experience with tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with cloud platforms, containers, orchestration, observability, identity and access management, secure logging, threat modelling, and audit controls.
- Strong understanding of RAG, vector stores, model gateways, tool calling, agent memory, and multi-agent orchestration.
Nice to have
- Experience with regulated industries and formal security, privacy, quality, validation, risk, or audit requirements.
- Experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Microsoft Fabric, or comparable services.
- Experience with AI observability or evaluation platforms such as Langfuse, LangSmith, Arize, or MLflow.
- Knowledge of FinOps, cloud cost allocation, budgeting, AI unit economics, SLOs, on-call models, and incident management.
