Senior AI Infra Engineer (LLM/ML)

Location: Seattle, United States. The role is transitioning to a fully in-person schedule of up to 5 days per week.

Base salary: $177,688–$341,734 annually, with potential additional bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, and operation of scalable, reliable, high-performance ML/LLM infrastructure.
• Build user-friendly tools and robust systems supporting TikTok E-commerce algorithm services and GMV growth.
• Partner with teams, organizations, and internal and external stakeholders on complex engineering initiatives.
• Drive technical strategy and integrate emerging technologies and novel infrastructure approaches.
• Improve end-to-end LLM serving performance across latency, throughput, and memory management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience building, training, and deploying complex, scalable machine learning systems.
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, software design patterns, and problem-solving.
• Strong programming skills and understanding of ML/LLM system internals.
• Experience managing technical projects and delivering results.
• Ability to work fully in person in Seattle, up to 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• In-depth experience with large language model systems and infrastructure.
• Experience with high-performance LLM serving frameworks such as vLLM or SGLang.
• Deep understanding of the full LLM serving stack and end-to-end inference optimization.
