Environmental, Health & Safety Officer (Automotive)

Location: Chemor (Ipoh), Malaysia

Company

Automotive manufacturer developing wire harness systems and vehicle interiors with operations supported by approximately 60,000 associates worldwide.

What you will do

• Implement and maintain environmental, occupational health, industrial safety, fire protection, and accident prevention practices at the manufacturing site.
• Advise management and employees on legal requirements, safe working procedures, PPE, hazardous materials, and workplace risk controls.
• Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections, environmental aspect analyses, work environment measurements, and machine safety release activities.
• Coordinate fire protection systems, emergency response plans, first aid activities, contractor safety, safety training, and employee medical support.
• Investigate accidents, occupational illnesses, disturbances, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports, statistics, recommendations, and corrective actions.
• Manage waste disposal coordination, EHS KPI data, monthly reporting, management reviews, purchasing requests, and implementation of global EHS standards and ADONIS processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.
• 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Knowledge of occupational first aid, CPR, AED, fire protection system implementation, EHS coordination, contractor safety management, and waste management.
• Green Book Holder authorization.
• Ability to coordinate EHS activities and provide safety training to employees and contractors.

Nice to have

• Certified Environmental Professional in Sewage Treatment Plant Operation (CePSTPO).
• Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CEPSWAM).
