QA Engineer (Kotlin Plugin)

Location: Belgrade, Serbia; Berlin, Germany; Limassol, Cyprus; Madrid, Spain; Munich, Germany; Paphos, Cyprus; Prague, Czech Republic; Remote, Germany; Warsaw, Poland; Yerevan, Armenia. Flexible work from home or office is available, with up to 30 days per year of remote work from abroad.

What you will do

• Collaborate with developers on exploratory testing of new and modified IntelliJ IDEA functionality.
• Investigate, document, and track bugs while performing regression testing.
• Design maintainable test scenarios and determine which cases should be automated.
• Write and maintain automated Kotlin tests for IDE functionality and Kotlin tooling.
• Analyze test coverage, identify critical gaps, and prioritize automation efforts.
• Assess technical risks and plan QA work for proposed product changes.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write clean code for test examples, failure investigation, and automated testing.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, or another object-oriented programming language.
• Experience designing test scenarios and balancing automated and manual testing.
• Experience with bug trackers, version control, and continuous integration systems.
• Familiarity with Java technologies, frameworks, and Maven or Gradle build tools.
• Ability to analyze complex technical behavior involving static analysis, compilers, or language tooling.

• Strong interest in programming languages, IDEs, and developer tools.
• Curiosity about unfamiliar technical areas and a focus on finding hidden issues.
