Backend Engineer (Java/Spring Boot)

Location: Fully remote, with core collaboration hours from 1:00–7:00 PM Manila Time (UTC+8). Company-sponsored trips to Manila may be required for in-person team collaboration.

What you will do

• Build and maintain reliable, scalable microservices in the JVM environment using Spring Boot.
• Design event-driven services using domain-driven design and eventual consistency.
• Develop APIs and services supporting core banking products and partner platforms.
• Contribute to internal SDKs and frameworks for shared services.
• Integrate with partner platforms and external services at scale.
• Help scale banking and partner platforms serving millions of users.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software development experience in the JVM environment.
• Strong Java skills; Kotlin experience is a plus.
• Experience with Spring Boot in a microservices environment.
• Understanding of event-driven architecture, domain-driven design, and eventual consistency.
• Experience with agile development, continuous deployment, and continuous delivery.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments; AWS is preferred.

Nice to have

• Kotlin experience.
• AWS experience.
