Captive Centre of Excellence Intern (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid role based in Zurich, Switzerland. Non-EU/EFTA and UK citizens must provide a certificate from a Swiss university confirming that the internship is integral to their course of study.

What you will do

• Identify and develop leads through needs assessments and opportunity origination with ART, Underwriting, and Customer & Distribution Management teams.
• Contribute to structured and alternative risk transfer product positioning, including captive fronting, parametric insurance, risk financing, and legacy solutions.
• Research captive market trends, regulatory developments, competitor positioning, and client needs, then synthesise findings into actionable insights.
• Support the development of hirify.global's captive value proposition, marketing materials, and conference content.
• Coordinate with internal teams across ART, Underwriting, Legacy Solutions, Client & Distribution Management, and hirify.global Institute.
• Build and maintain the captive pipeline dashboard for business development tracking and reporting.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Master's degree programme in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Risk Management, Law, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to present complex market and product information clearly.
• Genuine technical interest in structured insurance and alternative risk transfer solutions.
• Ability to collaborate proactively across teams, functions, and seniority levels.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills required.
• Non-EU/EFTA and UK citizens must provide a Swiss university certificate confirming that the internship is integral to their course.

Nice to have

• Prior internship or academic exposure to insurance, financial services, or risk management.
• Familiarity with captive insurance structures or corporate risk financing.
• Experience preparing professional presentations, reports, or marketing materials.
• German or French language skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in business development and market strategy.
