Web Application Security Consultant (Cybersecurity)

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada; hybrid arrangement with 2 days per week on-site and the remaining days remote

What you will do

• Manage web application security configurations for hirify.global applications.
• Onboard applications onto web application firewalls, bot controls, DDoS controls, and other security products.
• Monitor and analyze application traffic, tuning security settings to reduce false positives and protect legitimate users.
• Troubleshoot application security issues and adjust configurations in response to evolving threats and operational needs.
• Collaborate with Security Service Management, the SOC, and application teams across hirify.global.
• Participate in proof-of-concept evaluations for new web application security products.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience as an Information Security Consultant or in a similar role.
• Strong technical expertise in web application security, including web-based attacks, WAF, bot management, DDoS mitigation, and application-layer security solutions.
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical thinking, critical reasoning, investigation, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to provide a valid work or study permit where applicable.
• Successful completion of security checks, including a criminal record check, is required before starting.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CRISC, or CISM certification.
