Internship/Stage Full Stack Developer (Java & React)

Location: Ghent, Belgium; hybrid work

What you will do

• Further develop the open-source oVirt virtualization platform used to operate hosting clusters.
• Contribute to the Java-based web interface used internally to manage virtual machines.
• Research alternatives to the outdated GWT technology, with React as the preferred option.
• Partially develop the selected replacement technology and port UI components from GWT.
• Contribute improvements to the open-source community while working with the engineering team.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing higher education in software development.
• Seeking an internship to further develop software engineering skills.
• Some experience with Java and React.
• Strong analytical mindset, accuracy, results orientation, and collaborative approach.
• Interest in open-source software and willingness to deepen knowledge of the technology stack.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of GitHub and Linux, particularly CentOS.
• Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as oVirt.
