Focus on coordinating authors, reviewers, editors, and production teams while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and tight publication deadlines.

Location: Full-time, in-office role in Manchester, UK, based at the city centre office near Piccadilly Gardens.

What you will do

  • Support the editorial process for academic research journals in the relevant field.
  • Organize peer review for submitted manuscripts and coordinate editorial decisions.
  • Manage email communication among authors, reviewers, editors, and production teams.
  • Edit scholarly articles accurately and consistently while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Collaborate with editorial and production colleagues and represent the role at conferences, scholar visits, and marketing events.

Requirements

  • PhD preferred or Master's degree in a relevant field, including electrical and electronic engineering, computer engineering or computer science, telecommunications, automation and control, microelectronics, photonics, mechatronics, biomedical engineering, physics, applied physics, or materials science.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, time management, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work as a detail-oriented team player in a dynamic, international environment.
  • Willingness to work face-to-face from the Manchester office and engage with the scholarly community.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with the academic editorial process.
