TL;DR
Backend Engineer (Infrastructure/DevOps) (Kotlin/Spring Boot/Azure): Building and operating production-grade backend services and REST APIs with an accent on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and PostgreSQL performance. Focus on owning services end to end, designing Terraform-based infrastructure, integrating observability, and using AI coding agents while maintaining code quality.
Location: Remote, Belgrade, Vojvodina, Serbia

What you will do
- Build and operate production-grade backend services and RESTful APIs.
- Own services end to end, from API design through CI/CD pipelines, releases, rollbacks, and production infrastructure.
- Run cloud services on Kubernetes, primarily using Azure, AKS, and Helm.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, queries, and performance.
- Implement observability with metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, industry experts, and software engineers in distributed Scrum teams.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience and a Computer Science degree or equivalent education.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot, Kotlin, production services, and RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, ideally Azure, AKS, and Helm.
- Practical experience with Terraform, configuration management, CI/CD, testing, linters, and formatters.
- Experience with observability and operations, including metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.
- Fluent English is required. Experience using AI coding agents such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code is also required.
Nice to have
- Frontend experience with TypeScript and React, including Redux, micro frontends, or module federation.
- Experience with SAP Fiori, UI5 Web Components, Istio, Kyma, platform security, secrets management, or cost optimization.
- Experience integrating LLMs and GenAI with Spring AI, Azure OpenAI, agentic flows, or MCP servers.
