Senior Staff Accountant

Location: Sterling, VA, United States; hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two remote

Salary: $65,000–$73,000 annually

Accounting role supporting sales, receivables, financial reporting, and operational accounting activities.

What you will do

• Support sales and receivables accounting, payment processing, and operational accounting processes.
• Prepare complex account reconciliations, journal entries, supporting schedules, and documentation.
• Analyze account activity, resolve discrepancies, and support month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare financial reports and analysis for management.
• Support internal and external audits and identify opportunities to improve accounting accuracy and processes.
• Provide guidance to accounting team members and support cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliation, and analytical methods.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP system experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Experience with accounts receivable or payment operations.
