What you will do

  • Procure materials and services, including electronic components, chemicals, software, hardware, services, and commercial off-the-shelf items.
  • Develop and manage RFQ/RFP processes, negotiate agreements, and administer contracts for medium- to complex-level sourcing requirements.
  • Evaluate bids and select suppliers based on price, delivery, quality, service, and total cost of ownership.
  • Manage critical supplier relationships, purchase orders, delivery performance, discrepancies, returns, and corrective actions.
  • Interpret and apply FAR, DFARS, and ITAR requirements related to purchasing and import/export controls.
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, material management, and program teams to mitigate risks for critical-path parts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and at least 2 years of related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in the procurement function, with strong negotiation, follow-up, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience or knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and production processes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Security-clearance eligibility may require U.S. citizenship; E-Verify and background-check requirements apply.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of government property and purchasing requirements.
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and ITAR requirements.
  • Experience driving tasks to closure and maintaining high-quality work standards.
