Senior Backend Engineer (TypeScript)

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark

Base salary: DKK 539,400–809,200 gross annually. The role may also be eligible for equity awards and company incentive plans.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate backend services connecting Workday with NetSuite, Zuora, Salesforce, AP and tax platforms, banks, and payment providers.
• Build event-driven data pipelines on GCP using Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and BigQuery.
• Implement retry, idempotency, dead-letter handling, reconciliation, and data-integrity controls for money-critical financial data.
• Translate partially defined requirements into design specifications or production solutions.
• Own integrations in production, identify failures early, and make recovery possible without manual cleanup during financial close periods.
• Define integration standards covering contracts, error handling, observability, runbooks, and documentation.

Requirements

• Production experience building scalable and reliable backend microservices.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript for service-layer development.
• Experience with RESTful API design, service boundaries, contracts, and versioning.
• Hands-on enterprise integration experience across ERP, CRM, billing, subscription, or finance platforms, including Workday integration with Studio, Orchestrate, EIB, Core Connectors, RaaS/BIRT, or Web Services.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, message queues, alerting, and test design.
• Sufficient English proficiency for frequent professional communication with colleagues and partners worldwide.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the Workday data model across Financials or Payroll.
• Experience operating MuleSoft integrations and migrating them to native or custom-built solutions.
• Experience with Workato, Dell Boomi, XML, XSLT, JSON transformation, or mapping.
• Familiarity with advanced GCP services, Kubernetes, and CI/CD using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
