Senior Software Engineer (Fundraising)

Location: Fully remote, with at least 3 hours of overlap with East Africa Time and US Eastern Time between 8am and 6pm. Employment is currently available only in certain eligible countries. The role includes travel to meet colleagues in the US, Europe, and Africa a few weeks per year. Visa sponsorship or takeover of employment visa sponsorship in the US or UK is not available.

Base salary: $181,130 in the United States; £124,370 in the United Kingdom; $112,350 in Kenya. Bonuses and benefits stipends are provided separately.

What you will do

• Build and maintain fundraising functionality that supports donors and fundraisers.
• Ensure donations are recorded and safely started on their journey to recipients.
• Develop website features and communicate the impact of donations to donors and the public.
• Work directly with fundraising teams and non-engineering stakeholders on loosely defined, changing tasks.
• Own testing, launches, bug fixing, and progress independently.
• Provide on-call support during peak donation periods, including incident ownership and debugging legacy code.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Fluent English.
• Right to work in one of the countries where hirify.global can hire.
• Availability for meetings overlapping East Africa Time and US Eastern Time.
• Comfort working autonomously and collaborating directly with non-engineers.
• Willingness to work with Laravel, PHP, plain JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Salesforce, WordPress, SQL, and partner CSV files.
