Economic Consulting Intern

Location: Berlin, Germany. Hybrid working is available, combining mobile work with office collaboration and possible weekly in-person anchor days.

NERA Economic Consulting, part of hirify.global, applies economic, financial, and quantitative principles to complex business and legal challenges for corporations, law firms, regulators, and governments.

What you will do

• Support consulting teams in Antitrust and Competition, Energy and Natural Resources, or Transfer Pricing and Tax.
• Collaborate on studies, appraisals, presentations, and economic analyses from conception through documentation.
• Research and analyze company, industry, market, and transaction data.
• Apply statistical tools and develop quantitative economic models and argumentation.
• Contribute to analysis involving market power, cartel damages, mergers, infrastructure, financing, valuation, and cross-border transactions.

Requirements

• Very good university degree, at least Bachelor’s, in economics, finance, or a similar discipline.
• Interest in economic topics, especially microeconomics and fiscal matters.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and a precise, solution-oriented approach.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English; fluent Italian is required for the Competition team.
• Reliability, responsibility, teamwork, motivation, and the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar topics.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in applied economic research.
• Microsoft Office skills.
