Senior Engineering Manager (Ads Data Platform)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States. Office-based roles are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday.

Salary: $345,040–$399,420 USD annual base pay, plus equity compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and lead a high-performing team of software engineers, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
• Set a multi-quarter technical roadmap across core data infrastructure, identity, measurement, audience targeting, and ML feature engineering.
• Make prioritization and buy-versus-build decisions for high-leverage advertising data initiatives.
• Partner with product management, data science, ML engineering, privacy/legal, Ads, and Data Platform teams.
• Raise engineering standards for system design, data correctness, reliability, SLAs/SLOs, and operational excellence at massive scale.
• Communicate technical risks, progress, and trade-offs to technical and non-technical senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years managing engineers, including hiring and performance management.
• Experience delivering large-scale distributed data systems, data pipelines, streaming and batch processing, and high-volume, low-latency data stores.
• Strong knowledge of identity resolution, ad measurement or attribution, audience targeting or segmentation, or ML feature and data pipelines.
• Ability to set technical direction and lead teams through ambiguity.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, COPPA, and other data privacy principles.
