Senior Hardware Manager (Networking Hardware)

Location: Hybrid, with an average of two days per week from an HPE office; salary information applies to the United States, California

Salary: $174,000–$352,500 annual base salary in California, United States. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Lead, manage, and mentor a hardware development team across design, engineering, testing, and manufacturing.
• Oversee the hardware lifecycle from concept and prototyping through validation, manufacturing, and production release.
• Manage collaboration with Contract Manufacturing and Original Design Manufacturing partners to improve quality, cost, assembly, and delivery.
• Coordinate with hardware and software architects, development and test teams, and product management to define requirements, specifications, and timelines.
• Drive bring-up, lab testing, DVT validation, certification, and reviews of schematics, PCB designs, documentation, and test plans.
• Identify hardware, production, and supply-chain risks while improving performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of management experience in hardware development within the networking or communications hardware industry.
• Hands-on experience with Contract Manufacturing and Original Design Manufacturing development methodologies.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with board design, high-power SoC-based systems, CPU subsystems, prototyping, and manufacturing processes.
• Product development experience with networking systems, including switching, routing, or security products.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, supply-chain, cost optimization, and vendor relationship management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-speed interconnects, high-power systems, and high-thermal products.
• Experience with liquid-cooled systems and optical transceiver technologies such as CPO and CPC.
• Knowledge of software and firmware development processes related to hardware.
