TL;DR
Java Fullstack Software Engineer (Mobile Payment) (Java/Microservices/DevOps): Developing and operating real-time mobile payment backend applications with an accent on high availability, API security, and rapid delivery. Focus on designing microservices with Quarkus and Kafka, improving continuous delivery infrastructure, and taking technical leadership in a full-lifecycle Scrum team.
Location: Hybrid in Switzerland, with the job location in Zurich. Mobile working is available within Switzerland, and international remote work is possible for up to 25 days per year. The wider team is located in Zurich, Biel, and Milan.

What you will do
- Analyze, design, develop, implement, and operate modern real-time mobile payment applications.
- Build backend solutions for payment services such as TWINT, PayPal, Alipay, Wero, WeChat Pay, and Klarna.
- Improve microservices architectures and agile engineering approaches using tools including Kafka, Docker, and Quarkus.
- Advise on continuous delivery pipelines and deployment infrastructure.
- Own applications throughout their lifecycle, from design and implementation through production, as part of a Scrum DevOps team.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor colleagues in architecture, engineering, and DevOps.
Requirements
- Higher education in information technology or an equivalent qualification.
- Professional experience in Java application engineering.
- Knowledge of Java backend development, JDK, Maven, JUnit, Mockito, WireMock, Quarkus, WildFly, JPA, Hibernate, Panache, SQL, and Oracle.
- Experience with REST/SOAP interfaces, API security methods such as mTLS, OAuth, JWS, and JWT, and tools including GitLab, GitHub, Docker, OpenShift, Jenkins, or Jira.
- Agile mindset, willingness to learn, and readiness to take on technical leadership and mentoring responsibilities.
- Good English skills and conversational German are required.
