TL;DR
Localization Technical Lead (Backend/Localization): Building and improving localization integrations, automation frameworks, and technical workflows for localized software products with an accent on Translation Management Systems, content processing, and end-to-end quality control. Focus on connecting product systems with TMS platforms and CI/CD pipelines, automating translation handoffs and validation, and solving scalability bottlenecks across localization production.

A large Fortune technology client developing 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software.
What you will do
- Act as the technical authority for localization implementation and quality standards.
- Improve the efficiency, quality, and scalability of localization production through engineering solutions.
- Build integrations between product systems, Translation Management Systems, content repositories, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop automation for content extraction, file processing, translation handoff, validation, and testing.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks and improve shared localization tools and technical standards.
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers, internal teams, and Localization Program Management.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with localization tools and Translation Management Systems such as Phrase, Passolo, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of end-to-end localization workflows, including content extraction, translation, review, quality assurance, and release.
- Proficiency in Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or another programming language, plus SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Experience with AWS or Azure, automation frameworks, backend development, and problem-solving.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
- Experience integrating localization workflows into CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with automated linguistic quality assurance and validation tools.
- Experience building APIs, microservices, and system integrations.
- Exposure to AI-driven translation or localization workflow automation.
