Interim Associate or Senior Editor (Cell Biology and Development)

Location: Hybrid work in Pune or Beijing/Shanghai

What you will do

• Handle original research manuscripts throughout the editorial process, including manuscript selection and peer review.
• Make editorial decisions based on expert reviewer advice.
• Determine the representation of cell and developmental biology topics in the journal.
• Collaborate with editors across the Nature journal family and with the international scientific community.
• Attend conferences and visit research institutions to engage with scientists and assess emerging research.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent qualification in cell biology or developmental biology.
• Thorough understanding of recent trends and developments in the field.
• Ability to assess the novelty, context, and implications of research across different areas of the discipline.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent English in written and spoken communication is required.
• Willingness to travel and meet scientists worldwide.

Nice to have

• Strong background in single-cell transcriptomics and computational biology.
• Significant research experience.
• Editorial experience.
