Senior Software QA Engineer (Test Automation/Fintech): Designing and building automated testing frameworks and infrastructure for backend services, APIs, user-facing applications, and trading technology with an accent on reliability, performance, and testability. What you will do
- Design, build, and own automated test frameworks for backend services, APIs, and user-facing applications.
- Develop automated functional, integration, performance, and load-testing capabilities.
- Work with software engineering, quantitative research, trading, and operations teams to define quality requirements.
- Identify weaknesses in test coverage and drive improvements across the software development lifecycle.
- Promote shift-left testing and participate in architecture and system-design discussions to improve testability.
- Develop testing tools and infrastructure for high-throughput and low-latency systems while contributing to engineering standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in QA automation, SDET, or software test engineering.
- Experience designing and building an automation framework from scratch, including its architecture and technical decisions.
- Strong programming ability in at least one of Python, TypeScript, Go, or C++.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test design, and automation architecture.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Previous experience in trading, fintech, or financial technology, ideally with systematic trading or complex data-intensive systems.
Nice to have
- Experience with Playwright, Pytest, or similar modern automation frameworks.
- Performance and load-testing experience with tools such as k6 or Locust.
- Experience testing low-latency, high-throughput systems, data warehouses, data lakes, or streaming pipelines.
- Background in systematic trading, quantitative finance, or crypto/Web3.
- Experience applying AI or LLMs to software testing, plus working knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases and observability tools such as Datadog or Grafana.
