Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

Location: Remote-first work from home; salary zones are determined by the candidate's location.

Salary: $156,000–$224,250 base salary per year, depending on geographic zone, plus annual cash bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Design complex, cross-system integrations, including partner and alliance integration APIs.
• Identify recurring operational inefficiencies and build reusable templates, standards, and automation.
• Investigate root causes across architecture, monitoring, and processes, then drive lasting fixes.
• Partner with commercial, product, and engineering stakeholders to scope solutions and make technical trade-offs.
• Mentor engineers and non-engineers who write code and build automations.
• Participate in on-call support, triage production issues, and document risks, edge cases, and runbooks.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience writing readable, tested, and efficient production code.
• Strong Ruby on Rails experience, or exceptional backend experience in another language with the ability to ramp up quickly.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, APIs, and integrations across service boundaries.
• Experience building API-driven automation workflows with tools such as Tines, n8n, or similar platforms.
• Strong debugging, optimization, SDLC, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience in solutions engineering, implementation, customer-facing technical work, mentoring, or project leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience with React or Vue.
• Healthcare or other regulated, data-sensitive domain experience.
