Head of Warehouse Projects (Warehouse Automation)

Location: Hybrid, Vienna HQ, with regular international travel across the European site network

What you will do

• Own warehouse implementation projects from kickoff through commissioning, go-live, and operational handover.
• Manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resources, and critical-path milestones for major CapEx programs.
• Coordinate contractors, equipment vendors, integrators, and internal engineering and operations stakeholders.
• Translate approved designs into operational sites, including fit-outs, retrofits, G2P integrations, and new layouts.
• Lead commissioning, testing, operational sign-off, maintenance ownership, and troubleshooting handover.
• Report project status, risks, dependencies, and financial variances to leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading large-scale CapEx projects in warehouse automation, material handling, or industrial manufacturing.
• Engineering degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Practical understanding of conveyors, racking, material handling, and goods-to-person or AS/RS technologies.
• Experience managing complex critical paths, project budgets, and multi-vendor environments.
• Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and vendor leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly across European sites and take a hands-on approach to risk resolution and delivery.

Nice to have

• Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or IPMA Level C+.
• Experience in e-commerce, retail fulfillment, or high-throughput logistics automation.
• Familiarity with logistics robotics and emerging warehouse technologies.
