Backend Developer (Node.js/Nest.js) (iGaming)

Location: Fully remote; locations listed as Limassol, Cyprus; Tbilisi; Poland; Warsaw; Belgrade; and Yerevan.

What you will do

• Build scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend solutions for iGaming products.
• Develop and maintain high-load production systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS.
• Design REST APIs, modular services, and clean application architectures.
• Optimize database queries, indexes, transactions, and concurrency for PostgreSQL-based systems.
• Own backend features from implementation and testing through deployment, monitoring, and incident resolution.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams while explaining technical decisions and risks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial backend development experience with Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and NestJS.
• Strong SQL expertise, including query optimization, index design, transaction management, concurrency control, and bottleneck resolution.
• Experience with high-load systems, automated testing, load and performance testing, and production incident investigation.
• Experience with Redis, message queues, background jobs, event-driven architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
• Understanding of dependency injection, modular architecture, clean architecture, REST API design, and backend service architecture.
• Experience building systems where financial accuracy, idempotency, transaction consistency, and auditability are critical.

Nice to have

• Experience in iGaming, online casinos, sports betting, gaming platforms, wallets, payment systems, or transaction processing.
• Experience integrating third-party game providers, payment gateways, or other external services.
• Practical experience with AI-powered developer assistants such as Cursor or Claude.
