Senior Full-stack Developer (Java, TypeScript)

hirify.global is the hiring company for a project serving a UK-based fintech focused on payment gateway solutions for African markets.

What you will do

• Design and implement event-driven microservices from scratch using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build React and TypeScript screens for internal web applications.
• Expose and consume gRPC and REST APIs and integrate with customers and partners.
• Own services end-to-end from initial idea through production, including deployment and operational stability.
• Improve code quality, scalability, maintainability, and development processes.
• Collaborate with the team lead, product owner, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with Java and the React ecosystem.
• Strong full-stack development experience with Java, Spring Boot, React, and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience designing, exposing, and consuming gRPC and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of database design, data modeling, migrations, message queues, and full-system observability.
• Experience with production debugging across logs, databases, queues, and traces, plus alerts, runbooks, and incident follow-ups.
• Daily experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, with full ownership and understanding of generated code.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating with QA automation frameworks.
• Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, Kafka, MySQL, RPC, or S3.
