Innovation and Digital Agriculture Specialist (AI)

Location: Apia, Samoa. Duration: 11 months, up to 230 working days, with possibility of extension.

What you will do

• Support digital agriculture readiness assessments, investment roadmaps, and implementation of national e-agriculture strategies.
• Support the deployment, configuration, and continued development of Digital Farmer Registries and related digital public infrastructure.
• Apply product-management and human-centered design approaches to digital public goods and agricultural digital solutions.
• Provide guidance on interoperability, data governance, responsible data use, market linkages, climate resilience, and agricultural finance tools.
• Plan and monitor project activities, workplans, procurement, staffing, deliverables, risks, and reporting.
• Deliver training and capacity-building workshops and coordinate with governments, project partners, hirify.global regional offices, and headquarters.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Smart Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field; a bachelor's degree requires two additional years of relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in digital agriculture, agricultural information systems, ICT for development, or technical project implementation.
• Working knowledge of English at hirify.global Level C is required.
• Knowledge of digital public infrastructure, Digital Farmer Registries, digital public goods, product management, and human-centered design for rural and agricultural users.
• Knowledge of agricultural data standards, interoperability, data governance, and responsible use of agricultural data.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary and multicultural partners and support training, project monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting Digital Farmer Registries and digital public goods.
• Familiarity with the Pacific context.
• Experience delivering capacity-building activities for government counterparts in a development context.
