TL;DR
Senior QA Automation Engineer (Python) (Python, Behave, Playwright, gRPC): Building and maintaining automated test frameworks and integration suites for a complex software solution with microservices, microfrontends, and multiple API integrations with an accent on Python automation, API testing, BDD, and framework development. Focus on testing gRPC communication, creating mocks and test clients, investigating failures, and running reliable regression coverage through CI/CD pipelines.

Location: Remote, Romania; service region: Eastern Europe

What you will do

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test cases, scenarios, regression suites, and smoke suites.
  • Develop and continuously improve Python-based BDD test automation using Behave.
  • Perform API, integration, end-to-end, and gRPC testing with Playwright and Python.
  • Investigate failed tests, identify root causes, and create defects when appropriate.
  • Develop test clients, mocks, supporting automation tools, test data, and test environments.
  • Collaborate with developers, Test Automation Engineers, and Software Requirement Leads while challenging acceptance criteria and assessing testability.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python for test automation.
  • Solid experience with test automation in Agile development teams.
  • Strong experience with API and integration testing, including Protocol Buffers and gRPC.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Docker, ideally including Docker Compose.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks.
  • Good understanding of test design, regression testing, defect analysis, Git workflows, and collaborative problem-solving.

Nice to have

  • Experience with BDD/TDD, Behave, and Playwright using Python.
  • Experience with GitLab and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience mocking services, APIs, or hardware components.
  • Knowledge of OPC UA and experience with VS Code, WSL2, DevContainers, or shell scripting.
