Production / Stage Assistant (Freelance)

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria; on-site work for a live ballet production.

What you will do

• Coordinate sound and lighting technicians, artists, the Producer, and local crew during performances.
• Support technical rehearsals without responsibility for design or cueing.
• Lay, tape, and pack up Marley or Harlequin dance floors and assist with scenic-element setup.
• Support on-site technical operations and troubleshoot minor issues during preparation and live shows.
• Maintain backstage workspace cleanliness and update the equipment inventory after each performance.

Requirements

• Knowledge of backstage etiquette, show flow, and stage-entry timing.
• Hands-on experience setting up, taping, and packing dance floors safely.
• Familiarity with basic stage lighting, sound systems, and technical terminology.
• Bulgarian and English language skills required.
• Strong attention to pre-show checklists, calm problem-solving, clear communication, and physical stamina for setup and teardown.
• Flexibility to work evening and weekend show hours.

Nice to have

• Basic understanding of low-voltage electronics, LEDs, battery packs, and loose cables.
• Experience with dance companies, physical theatre, or touring productions.
