Privacy Engineering Lead (AI Governance)

Location: On-site five days per week at a designated Suno office in NYC, Boston, Los Angeles, or San Francisco. Applicants must be eligible to work in the US.

Salary: $276,960–$363,510 annual base salary, plus target equity and benefits.

Suno is an AI music and consumer entertainment company building a creative platform used to create and produce music.

What you will do

• Build Suno's privacy and AI governance function and establish technical direction for data and permissions across the platform, models, and agents.
• Define data-use and AI policy foundations in partnership with Legal.
• Own data discovery, classification, and permissions mapping across product, analytics, and vendor systems.
• Design and operate governance controls enforcing consent, access, and data-sharing rules.
• Lead verified user-rights operations, including access, correction, deletion, and consent management, with self-service tools.
• Hire and grow a dedicated privacy engineering team and embed responsible data handling into new models and features.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of hands-on software engineering experience, including the ability to build and ship enforcement infrastructure.
• Deep experience in privacy engineering or data governance, with familiarity with GDPR and CCPA.
• Experience as an engineering manager with strong technical depth, or as a Staff+ engineer ready to grow into people management.
• Experience with AI/ML governance, model evaluation pipelines, or generative AI systems.
• Background at a scaled consumer technology company or a company with a significant European user base.
• Prior experience as an early or founding privacy/governance hire at a growing company.
