Staff Engineer (SRE)

Salary: $95,800–$185,000 per year

What you will do

• Architect system resilience across distributed microservices and establish SLO-driven engineering practices.
• Develop modern observability capabilities and improve incident response workflows.
• Drive multi-cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure strategy across AWS and/or GCP.
• Build automated tooling and self-service infrastructure for safe deployments, monitoring, and service reliability.
• Serve as a technical escalation point during critical incidents and lead blameless post-mortems focused on root-cause elimination.
• Collaborate with product teams across Checkout, Logistics, Catalog, Search, and Shopper Experience.

Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years running complex microservices at scale on Kubernetes in cloud environments.
• Fluency in at least one modern programming language used for system tooling and backend services.
• Advanced experience with Terraform, Helm, and GitOps workflows such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• Hands-on experience with Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and centralized logging platforms.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP/2, gRPC, service meshes, CDN routing, and API gateways; bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
