TL;DR
Senior Design Director (Specialized Environments) (Spatial and Experiential Design): Leading the creative development and execution of complex environmental, broadcast, branded, workplace, sports, entertainment, cultural, and permanent spatial experiences with an accent on spatial storytelling, materiality, lighting, brand integration, and buildability. Focus on directing multidisciplinary design workstreams, presenting concepts to senior clients, mentoring designers, and expanding the Specialized Environments practice across new categories.
Location: Boston, Dayton, Denver, New York, or North Las Vegas, United States; NYC strongly preferred, with hybrid work in a Jack US office preferred

What you will do
- Lead the design vision for complex environmental and broadcast projects from concept through design development and production handoff.
- Develop concepts connecting brand, storytelling, audience experience, and physical space across broadcast, sports, entertainment, workplace, cultural, retail, hospitality, and immersive environments.
- Guide mood boards, concept narratives, plans, sketches, elevations, material direction, renderings, presentations, and design documentation.
- Partner with strategy, creative, account, project management, production, fabrication, technical, and vendor teams to resolve project challenges.
- Present design work to clients and senior stakeholders, support pitches and new business, and maintain design intent through execution.
- Mentor designers, lead critiques and design reviews, and help grow the Specialized Environments practice.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in environmental, experiential, architectural, interior, scenic, broadcast, branded-environment, or related design.
- Experience leading complex spatial design projects from concept through execution.
- Portfolio demonstrating environmental storytelling, spatial design, materiality, lighting, graphics, and brand integration.
- Experience presenting to clients and senior stakeholders and mentoring or leading designers.
- Strong understanding of design processes, production realities, fabrication, and buildability.
- Strong spatial design, communication, organization, decision-making, storytelling, and client-facing skills.
Nice to have
- Drafting experience in Vectorworks or AutoCAD.
- Rendering skills in Cinema 4D or 3D.
