Principal Software Engineer (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Design and implement cross-network security solutions in response to emerging threats.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain network security products for the next-generation firewall platform.
• Troubleshoot product issues escalated by the product support team.
• Provide technical leadership on software design, low-level implementation, binary-level debugging, and architectural integrity.
• Lead and mentor engineers through hands-on guidance and challenging assignments.
• Implement high-quality security software and contribute to additional engineering projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience with C/C++ on Linux.
• Strong knowledge of computer networking, operating system fundamentals, and device driver fundamentals.
• Experience leading development projects and mentoring junior developers.
• Strong troubleshooting, coding, source management, and debugging skills.
• Understanding of certificate management, code signing, secure communications, encryption, trusted boot, or related security technologies.

Nice to have

• Network security and prior security product development experience.
• Kernel-level code, system extensions, or device driver development and debugging.
• Secure coding, integrity measurement, and tamper detection expertise.
• Experience with test frameworks, Agile methods, virtualization, and containerization.
• Knowledge of build systems, continuous integration, and design patterns.
