What you will do

• Collect blood specimens through venipuncture and microcollection techniques for laboratory analysis.
• Perform point-of-care testing and instruct patients on collecting urine, stool, and other non-blood specimens.
• Verify test requests, patient demographics, labels, vouchers, and specimen documentation.
• Process, prepare, and transfer specimens for courier pickup, investigating and resolving specimen errors.
• Maintain supplies and perform quality assurance on centrifuges, refrigerators, and incubators.
• Greet patients, support patient flow, answer calls, and provide information appropriately.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification from a nationally recognized organization, training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution, at least one year of healthcare phlebotomy experience, or CMA certification.
• Ability to perform accurate specimen collection while maintaining patient comfort and well-being.
• Onsite work at the Huntley, Illinois location.

Nice to have

• Experience performing phlebotomy with a broad range of patient types.
• Experience processing and transferring laboratory specimens and handling a centrifuge.
• Familiarity with medical EMR systems and medical terminology.
