Middle Narrative Designer / Writer (Gamedev)

Game development studio with over 20 years of experience, creating mobile, PC, and console games including the Shadow Fight and Vector franchises.

What you will do

• Write concise and precise in-game texts and internal project documentation in Russian and English.
• Create characters and stories within the Shadow Fight universe.
• Develop and expand the franchise lore.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions for stories, characters, in-game events, and other content.
• Use in-game assets according to development guidelines and collaborate with other teams and the project producer.
• Maintain and update narrative documentation.

Requirements

• Experience in writing or scriptwriting, with writing samples included in the application.
• Extensive gaming experience across different genres.
• Understanding of game writing, drama structures, and core game design principles.
• Professionalism, responsibility, politeness, and strong attention to detail.
• Upper-Intermediate English or higher for reading, writing, and listening.
• Fluent Russian communication is required.

Nice to have

• Previous experience as a Narrative Designer or Writer.
• At least one year of experience in the gaming industry.
• Experience with non-linear storytelling and narrative design tools.
• Experience with mobile or free-to-play games.
• Strong interest in RPGs and fighting games, plus broad cultural interests across games, film, literature, anime, theater, and pro wrestling.
