What you will do

• Lead the Department of Biostatistics as its Chair and advance its strategic and academic direction.
• Guide biostatistical contributions across the research continuum, from scientific questions and study design through analysis, interpretation, and publication.
• Support research spanning clinical trial design, statistical genetics and genomics, Bayesian methods, survival and longitudinal analysis, high-dimensional and functional data, causal inference, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and predictive modeling.
• Strengthen collaborations with major multi-institutional research initiatives, including the Children's Oncology Group and the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study.
• Oversee a department of 75 members, including faculty, staff statisticians and bioinformaticians, postdoctoral researchers, and computing and administrative professionals.
• Develop faculty careers through mentorship, education, and professional development.

Requirements

• PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications.
• Academic credentials suitable for appointment at the full member or Professor level.
• Strong record of scholarship in statistical methodology.
• Demonstrated leadership, strategic and academic management ability, and financial acumen.
• Ability to secure external funding and commitment to faculty mentorship and career development.
• Experience in a cancer center or academic medical center is highly desirable.
