Application Engineer (FPGA)

Location: Shanghai, China; additional location: Beijing, China (Remote)

Company

Develops FPGA solutions and supports their adoption from evaluation through production deployment.

What you will do

• Advise customers, field teams, distribution partners, and internal engineering organizations on FPGA system design and implementation.
• Lead resolution of complex technical challenges, including design performance, resource utilization, and timing closure.
• Support high-speed interfaces and advanced FPGA capabilities.
• Act as an escalation point for difficult design and tool issues.
• Collaborate with silicon, software, IP, and product engineering teams to deliver robust solutions.
• Support customer design wins, first-pass FPGA functionality, and successful system integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience developing high-density FPGA or ASIC designs.
• Strong proficiency in Verilog and/or VHDL, FPGA design tools, and implementation methodologies.
• Experience with timing analysis, timing constraints, timing closure, simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, static timing analysis, and hardware debug.
• Experience with high-speed video and system interfaces such as DisplayPort, HDMI, and MIPI, plus at least one protocol such as PCI Express, Ethernet, JESD204, or high-speed serial transceivers.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to work with customers, sales teams, distribution partners, and cross-functional engineering organizations.
