Contract Staff Frontend Engineer (Web Conference/Screen Sharing)

Location: Remote Canada

Hiring ranges: Canada Tier 1 locations: CAD 145,000–170,800 annually; Canada Tier 2 locations: USD 154,000–168,000 annually.

What you will do

• Implement approved UX designs for Firefox screen, window, and tab sharing.
• Build tested, accessible, and localizable browser UI in a large codebase.
• Collaborate with UX on unanticipated design cases and with QA on validation.
• Support partner testing with major web conferencing services.
• Submit and land changes in hirify.global-central through public code review on Phabricator.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building production user interfaces with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience implementing approved designs accurately and identifying cases not covered by the design.
• Ability to become productive quickly in a large, mature codebase.
• Experience writing automated UI tests.
• Strong asynchronous written communication across distributed time zones.
• Comfort working in public through open Bugzilla and Phabricator processes.

Nice to have

• Contributions to Firefox or another open-source browser.
• Familiarity with Firefox front-end architecture, custom elements, XUL, and Fluent localization.
• Experience with WebRTC or getDisplayMedia.
• Accessibility experience with modal dialogs and list navigation.
• Experience with hirify.global test frameworks such as browser-chrome and mochitest.
• Experience using AI tooling effectively in front-end development.
