A/V Specialist

Location: Buffalo, New York, United States; on-site support required. The schedule follows event needs, including occasional travel, evenings, weekends, and 24/7 on-call coverage around high-profile events.

Salary: $85,800–$143,000 annual USD.

What you will do

• Design, build, operate, and execute camera and video technologies for studio spaces, large meetings, and hybrid or virtual events.
• Execute remote-site shoots and support event technology across the organization’s footprint.
• Integrate camera systems with audio, streaming, videoconferencing, and related live-event technologies.
• Troubleshoot incidents, document root causes and resolutions, and create or update standard operating procedures.
• Plan and deliver technical components of events, projects, upgrades, and executive conference-room changes.
• Coordinate vendors and engineering teams, communicate technical issues to executives, and train less experienced peers.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of combined higher education and/or relevant work experience, including 3 years of executive or endpoint technical support.
• At least 2 years of relevant Audio-Visual over Internet Protocol experience.
• Advanced ability to operate audio-visual technology for large-scale live event production.
• Experience with RTMP streaming, web-conferencing software, digital audio and video tools, video directing, control-room streaming software, remote or satellite cameras, and computer-aided drawing programs.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, prioritization, troubleshooting, and vendor-coordination skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform standing, bending, climbing, walking, and other physical event-support activities.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in theatre, media, broadcast technologies, communications, film, live events, or a related audio-video field.
• Experience supporting and installing traditional video technology in non-traditional event deployments.
