Data Protection Officer (Fintech) (GDPR, AI and payments): Leading and continuously strengthening the data protection framework across banking, payments and technology operations with an accent on regulatory compliance, DPIAs, AI privacy risks and independent advisory work. Focus on managing data breaches and data subject requests, embedding privacy by design, overseeing international data transfers, and advising senior stakeholders in a highly regulated environment.

What you will do
- Act independently as the appointed Data Protection Officer under Articles 37–39 of the GDPR.
- Monitor GDPR, European privacy legislation, internal policies and regulatory expectations across banking, payments and technology operations.
- Advise senior management and governing bodies on complex privacy matters, emerging risks and remediation actions.
- Oversee DPIAs, high-risk processing, privacy by design, data breaches, data subject requests and international data transfers.
- Provide privacy guidance on AI systems, profiling, automated decision-making, analytics, fraud prevention, biometrics and cloud technologies.
- Manage regulatory interactions, policies, governance frameworks, reporting, training and compliance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law; postgraduate study in data protection, technology law or information security is desirable.
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience, including senior privacy or appointed DPO experience.
- Experience in banking, payments, fintech, technology or another highly regulated, data-intensive environment.
- Expert knowledge of GDPR, ePrivacy requirements, international data transfers and European data protection guidance.
- Experience with DPIAs, personal data breaches, regulatory interactions and complex data subject matters.
- Fluency in English and Greek is required.
Nice to have
- Professional certification such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, CDPO or equivalent.
- Postgraduate qualification in data protection, technology law, information security or a related discipline.
