Project Manager (Solar/BESS)

Location: Melbourne, Australia

Salary: AUD 160,000–210,000 per annum

What you will do

• Develop and maintain construction programs, resource plans, critical path schedules, and progress reports.
• Manage project budgets, cost-to-complete forecasts, earned value, cash flow, variations, revenue, and margin performance.
• Administer head contracts and subcontracts, including notices, RFIs, extension-of-time submissions, claims, and contractual records.
• Lead safety, quality, compliance, permits, inspections, ITPs, NCR management, and project closeout activities.
• Procure and manage civil, structural, electrical, commissioning, and vegetation-management subcontractors and supply-chain activities.
• Act as the primary client contact, represent the business in project meetings, and supervise and mentor project delivery staff.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of construction project management experience, including at least 2 years on utility-scale solar, BESS, or energy infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing construction projects valued between $5M and $50M, including labour-intensive and multi-subcontractor delivery.
• Strong commercial, financial, contract administration, negotiation, reporting, and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Project or equivalent scheduling software and Microsoft Office tools.
• White Card and a full Australian driver's licence are required.
• Trade or engineering experience is highly regarded; a current A-Grade electrical licence and HV Switching authority are advantageous.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of solar PV and BESS construction, equipment, and commissioning sequences.
• Familiarity with AS 4902-2000 or AS 2124-1992 contract frameworks.
• PMI, AIPM, or equivalent project management qualification.
