Senior Machine Learning Engineer - USDS (Multiple Positions)

Location: San Jose, California, United States

Salary: $230,466–$359,720 annually

What you will do

• Model real-world user data across the full machine learning lifecycle, including data preparation, feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning, evaluation, and model selection.
• Build, train, optimize, and deploy machine learning and deep learning models for user behavior metrics and treatment-effect analysis.
• Design experiments, A/B tests, statistical analyses, and significance studies to improve user experience and business decisions.
• Develop data-driven advertising solutions for ranking, targeting, bidding, calibration, reporting, and conversion lift optimization.
• Research machine learning models and product strategies while partnering with product managers, strategy, operations, and policy stakeholders.
• Manage and mentor junior and mid-level engineers and share engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, machine learning, data science, statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field with at least 2 years of related experience; or a bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 5 years of progressive post-bachelor’s experience.
• At least 2 years of experience coding in Python or C++ and developing in a Linux environment.
• At least 2 years of experience conducting A/B testing, optimizing models based on analytical results, and deploying models to production.
• At least 2 years of experience developing and deploying large-scale machine learning systems and using PyTorch, TensorFlow, Python, or other mainstream machine learning frameworks.
• At least 2 years of experience with big data frameworks or technologies including MySQL, Spark, Hadoop, or Flink.
