AVP/VP, Commercial Quality Control (AI)

Location: HQ - San Diego, California, United States

Salary: $85,000–$115,000 per year, plus eligible discretionary cash and restricted stock unit bonus targets of 12.5% each.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a blended onshore and offshore Commercial Quality Control team, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
• Own first-line quality control programs across commercial lending credit and operations, including HMDA, UCC, Reg B, Flood, LAR, rate changes, loan boarding, loan maintenance, money movement, and PFC reviews.
• Set and prioritize the Commercial Quality Control AI roadmap, converting manual checklists and review programs into automated and AI-assisted workflows using Claude, Claude Skills, Claude Code, and n8n.
• Validate automation workflows against representative cases, calibrate human-review requirements, and monitor automation and agent performance.
• Represent Commercial Quality Control in AI governance and ensure workflows meet model risk, audit, and approved-tool standards.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and examinations, manage findings and remediation plans, and oversee capacity planning, value-driver reporting, SLAs, and KRIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, audit, or operations leadership within commercial lending or banking.
• At least 3 years of direct people management experience, including outsourced, offshore, or blended onshore/offshore teams.
• Direct experience using or sponsoring AI and automation tools in quality, review, or operational environments.
• Working knowledge of commercial lending regulations, including HMDA, UCC, Reg B, and Flood requirements.
• Experience with audit and examination relationships, findings remediation, AI governance, model risk, third-party risk, commercial lending systems, and process governance.

Nice to have

• Hands-on familiarity with Claude, Claude Skills, Claude Code, n8n, LoanIQ, nCino, iGrafx, or comparable platforms.
