Software Engineer (Tokenization)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid attendance with at least 3 days per week in the Toronto office required

Base pay: CAD 136,000–160,000 per year, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and deploy backend services for minting, custody, and settlement of tokenized equities on the Robinhood Chain.
• Develop product-facing features and platform capabilities with strict correctness, auditability, and scalability requirements.
• Connect traditional brokerage, ledger, and corporate-action infrastructure with on-chain systems.
• Integrate smart contracts, chain indexers, and decentralized exchange trading flows.
• Improve system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, client, and platform teams.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Backend development expertise with Go, Python, or Java.
• Understanding of cloud-native architecture, system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience reasoning about correctness-critical systems, including idempotency, reconciliation, and failure modes involving customer assets.
• Strong ownership and experience delivering projects end to end in cross-functional environments.
• Interest in blockchain fundamentals such as EVM, smart contracts, wallets, and on-chain settlement, or willingness to develop this expertise quickly.

• Deeper experience with blockchain infrastructure, decentralized exchanges, tokenization, or financial market systems.
